AvaTrade To Close Its Office | What Does This Mean for Traders?
Abstract:For traders, the immediate question is less about the closure of an office and more about which international AvaTrade entity will handle their accounts.

AvaTrade is closing its Polish branch nearly six years after establishing a local presence in the country, marking a notable retreat from a market that was once targeted as part of the brokers international expansion strategy.
The closure was confirmed by Patryk Schulmeister, managing director of AvaTrades Polish operations, who also announced his departure from the company. In a LinkedIn post, Schulmeister said he had decided to move on and that the Polish branch would consequently close its doors.
The development ends a local operation that began in mid 2020, when AvaTrade opened an office in Warsaw as the broker sought to provide Polish traders with a more localised service. At the time, the establishment of the office was presented as part of a broader international expansion effort, with the local operation intended to improve customer support and provide services tailored to Polish clients.
That distinction could be important for existing customers. While the physical Polish branch is being removed, AvaTrade is retaining access to the market through its wider international structure, meaning the closure appears to involve a change in the way the broker serves the country rather than an outright withdrawal of its Polish clientele.
AvaTrade continues to operate across several regulated jurisdictions. In Europe, the broker holds regulatory authorisation in Cyprus and a licence from the Central Bank of Ireland, while its wider international footprint includes regulatory oversight in Australia, Japan and the British Virgin Islands, according to the report.
For traders, the immediate question is less about the closure of an office and more about which international AvaTrade entity will handle their accounts, services and commercial relationships going forward. The company has so far confirmed continued support for Polish clients and partners but has not provided further details on the structure of that arrangement.
As international brokers increasingly serve traders across borders, Malaysian investors may encounter brands operating through different jurisdictions and regulatory entities. A change in a brokers local structure overseas does not by itself indicate a problem for Malaysian customers, but it reinforces the importance of checking the entity providing the service and its regulatory status before placing funds with any investment platform.
